A Nivea beauty salon, situated within an ASDA superstore, has had its own makeover!
The salon has installed an Intelligent Glass laminated switchable glass window, and in this clip you can see the window switching instantly from frosted to clear, and back to frosted again.
Laminated switchable glass has long been a favourite for retail applications. Its stylish look, clean lines, durability and undeniable customer wow factor is an impressive combination, especially in the world of fashion and beauty.
Notice how the light levels in the salon don’t drop much when the glass is in its frosted, unpowered state – our switchable glass still allows plenty of light into the room, and diffuses it to ensure privacy for the salon’s occupants.
When power is applied to the glass – usually switched by a small remote control – it becomes exceptionally clear, with no blurring or distortion.
And, if Nivea wished to notch up the wow factor even more, the switchable glass can be projected onto when it’s frosted, creating a large format high definition advertising screen.
