Switchable products provide you with instant control of glare, whilst keeping the room well lit. This in turn will also help reduce solar heat gain.

There are various ways to operate your Switchable. As standard we supply an RF remote control kit for wireless operation. Other options you could use include a smart home system, a mobile phone app, or a standard wall switch.

We provide all of the electrical components required to get your product operational. At the very least you will need a transformer supplied by ourselves. We also supply an optional remote control kit, allowing you to change the state of the glass or film at the press of a button. The only thing you require is a 3-pin plug socket, or a 13A fused spur.

To power Switchable products, all you require is a plug socket or a fused spur. Our transformers use a 3-pin plug, so the glass or film is ready to use immediately after installation.

When off, Switchable Smart products are in their opaque/frosted state.
When a current is applied they turn clear in an instant!

Switchable products have been tested to have a lifespan of over 80,000 hours, which is the equivalent to over 18 years if you use your Switchable for 12 hours a day!

We recommend that Switchable Film should be cleaned with IPA wipes which are available for purchase from Intelligent Glass. We do not recommend cleaning Switchable Film with water or cleaning liquids as this could damage the film if the electrical contacts or edges are exposed to moisture / chemicals.

Yes, the static cling layer on our Switchable Smart Film will not leave any adhesive residue on your glass, or cause damage to framing.

We offer three standard sizes of transformer:

• 50VA – powers up to 5 sqm.
• 200VA – powers up to 20 sqm.
• 500VA – powers up to 50 sqm.

Switchable Glass and Film both use around 5W per m².

Switchable products default to opaque (privacy) mode when powered off, ensuring your privacy even during a power outage!
