We have always said that our customers have the best ideas how to use our products. Here is a very good example, where switchable glass double glazed units were specified as part of a new build private property in the UK.
The homeowner’s design called for a bold, full double height wall of Intelligent Glass double glazed units, surrounding the front door of the property.
The door leads into an atrium hallway, which naturally is flooded with light from the large windows.
But such a large area of clear glass could make the atrium feel a little exposed – switchable glass plays its key role here, allowing plenty of diffused light into the atrium, whilst providing full privacy for the homeowner and their family.
There are economy and comfort considerations too. When frosted, Intelligent Glass helps to retain heat during winter, and in summer it helps control UV light levels, preventing the atrium from a potentially uncomfortable greenhouse effect.
